Clinical Application/

Specificity 5A6 specifically reacts with the 85 kDa BETA-chain of human LRP/a 2MR which is expressed in a re-stricted spectrum of cell types (for a recent review cf. Herz & Strickland). A strong immunohistochemical reaction is seen in hepato-cytes, tissue macrophages, subsets of neurones and astro-cytes in the central nervous system, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and monocyte-derived foam cells in athero-sclerotic lesions in the arterial wall. The antibody can also be used for the characterization of a subset of myelo-monocytic subtypes of chronic and acute leukemia (CD 91). Neutralizing effects of clone 5A6 Mab has been reported (Basu et al,2001)

Dilution dilute 1:20 with PBS, pH 7.4 for iimmunohistochemistry

Storage/Stability After reconstitution with 1ml distilled water, the antibody is stable for a min 1 year when stored at 4 DEG C For extended storage keep in aliquots at -20 Deg C. Avoid repeated thawing and freezing.

Quantity: 50ug (lyophilized) contains 0.09% sodium azide 0.5% BSA
