  ANTIBODIES

(anti-Human and others as indicated)

RDI Division of Fitzgerald Industries Intl  offers a wide line of  antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.

Calcitonin & Procalcitonin

Rabbit anti- Calcitonin

cat#RDI-PRO11155    $375.00/vial 0.25ml

Form: Rabbit polyclonal

Purification/Form Rabbit serum

Immunogen Synthetic human calcitonin

Description/Specificity Calcitonin is produced by the C-cells of the thyroid. The antibody can be used in the diagnosis of medullary carcinoma and of C-cell hyperplasmia. Calcitonin may also occur in bronchial carcinoids and in tumors of a renal medulla and of pancreatic islets. The antibody shows a cytoplasmic staining.

Specificity has been tested by immunoblotting and Ouchterlony.

Reaction: calcitonin with most Species tested (human, mouse, rat and rabbit)

Application Immunofluorescence

                    Immunoblotting

Immunohistochemistry of frozen and paraffin-embedded sections; no proteolytic treatment

Recommended Positive Control: Thyroid

Working Dilution 1:50 -1:100 for immunohistochemistry

Storage At 2-8C undiluted or at -20C for longer periods

Form: (contains 0.1% Na-Azide)

Monoclonal mouse anti-human calcitonin

Catalogue # RDI-TRK4C10-   clone#

$500.00/1mg  $469.00/mfg 2-9  Bulk quotes on request

Clone: clones 13B9, 13F2, 13G11, 14A2, 16B5, 24B2

These clones have been derived from hybridization of SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells of Balb/c mice immunized with calcitonin conjugated with carrier protein

Specificity: Human calcitonin

Mouse isotype: 13F2, 13G11, 14A2, 24B2 - IgG1,

                          13B9 - IgG2a,

                          16B5 - IgG2b

Application: Detection of human procalcitonin and calcitonin in ELISA and Western Blotting. In combination with antibodies specific to N-terminal part of human procalcitonin and catacalcin they can be used for procalcitonin detection in human blood. MAbs specific to calcitonin work better as capture antibodies in sandwich immunoassay.

The best pair for sandwich immunoassay: 13B9-24B2 (24B2=procalcitonin Mab)

Purification: Purified by chromatography on protein A Sepharose. Purity is tested by electrophoresis.

Presentation: Each vial contains antibodies in PBS, pH 7,4, containing 0,1 % of sodium aside as preservative. Store at + 4 °C.

Material safety note: This product is sold as an antibody preparation for research purpose only. Standard Laboratory Practices should be followed when handling this material. Contains sodium aside (0,1 %) as preservative. Although the amount of sodium aside is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
