Human Cytokine/Growth Factor/Chemokines Sample Spec sheets (subject to change without notice):

DATA SHEET: RECOMBINANT HUMAN Galectin-1

Galectin-1 belongs to growing family of evolutionary conserved animal lectins. Galectins consists of beta-galactoside binding lectins that contain homologous carbohydrate recognition domains (CRDs). Galectin-1 has the ability to induce apoptosis of activated T-cells and T-leukaemia cell lines. Other activities include cell differentiation and inhibition activity of CD45 protein phosphatase activity. Galectin also binds beta-galactoside as well as CD45, CD3 and CD4. This recombinant Human Galectin is a 14.5 kDa protein consisting of 134 amino acid residues.

Catalog#: RDI-4539

Package Size: 50 micrograms $231.00    $219.00/pk 2 or more

                     MINI-PACK cat#RDI-4539p $94.00/10ug

Supplied: The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 10mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.5.

Source: E. Coli

Purity: Greater than 97% by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per µg (1EU/µg).

Reconstitution: The lyophilized powder is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in water or 20mM Tris pH7.5 to a concentration of 0.1- 1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4 DEG C, tighten cap and rotate to reconstitute any material on sides of vial. If desired, you can centrifuge at 1000 rpm for 1 minute to concentrate volume in bottom of vial. This solution can be diluted into water or other buffered solutions or stored at 4 DEG C for up to 1 week or at -20 DEG C for future use.

Note:If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling(or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 0.1% BSA to dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial. Maintain stock >10ug/ml.

Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20 Deg C. Reconstituted human galectin-1 should be stored in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES.

Reactivity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human blood monocytes. Chemotactic activity was observed at a concnetration of 2.5ug/ml with a peak response obtained at 250ug/ml.
