DATA SHEET:   recombinant HUMAN SDF1 Alpha

-SDF-1 alpha and beta are stromal derived CXC chemokines, and signal through the CXCR4 receptor. SDF-1alpha and beta chemoattract B and T cells, and have been shown to induce migration of CD34+ stem cells. Additionally, the SDF-1 proteins exert HIV suppressive activity in cells expressing the CXCR4 receptor. This recombinant human SDF-1alpah is an 8.0 kDa protein containing 68 amino acid residues.

Supplied: Lyophilized powder with no additives.

Source: E. Coli

Purity: >98% by SDS-Page analysis and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng per ug of SDF1A

Reconstitution: The lyophilized SDF1A is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized protein can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1- 1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes. Rotate and/or vortex to mix. Centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000 rpm to concentrate solution in bottom of vial. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at 4 DEG C for up to 1 week or at -20 DEG C for future use. It is recommended that further dilutions be made intobuffer containing carrier protein or medium containing serum.

Note:If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling (or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 0.1% BSA to dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial.

Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20 Deg C. Reconstituted SDF1A should be stored in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES.

Reactivity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral T cells activated with PHA and IL-2 using a concentration range of 20-80ng/ml. (for an article on antibodies used to stimulate T cell click on T cell Stimulation)
