Human Cytokine/Growth Factor/Chemokines Sample Spec sheets (subject to change without notice):

DATA SHEET:  recombinant Human INTERFERON-GAMMA

IFN-gamma is an acid-labile interferon produced by CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes as well as activated NK cells. IFN-gamma receptors are present in most immune cells, which respond to IFN-gamma signaling by increasing the surface expression of class I MHC proteins. This promotes the presentation of antigen to T-helper (CD4+) cells. IFN-gamma signaling in antigen-presenting cells and antigen-recognizing B and T lymphocytes regulate the antigen-specific phases of the immune response. Additionally, IFN-gamma stimulates a number of lymphoid cell functions including the anti-microbial and anti-tumor responses of macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils. Human IFN-gamma species-specific and is biologically active only in human and primate cells. This recombinant human IFN-gamma is a 16.7 kDa protein containing 143 amino acid residues..

Supplied: sterile filtered and then the protein was lyophilized from 05X PBS no additives.

Source: E. Coli

Purity: >98% by SDS-Page and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per ug of IFN-g.

Reconstitution: The lyophilized IFN-g is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers.   The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in water or a 1X PBS pH8.0 buffer to a concentration of 0.1- 0.5mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes, rotate and mix well. Centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000RPM to concentrate solution in bottom of vial. This solution MUST BE be diluted into RPMI + 10% FCS or 5% HSA and stored at 4oC for 1 week or -20oC for future use.

Note:If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling (or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 5% BSA/HSA to dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial. Ideally, maintain stock >50ug/ml.

Storage: The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for a few weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20 DEG C. Reconstituted IFN-G should be stored in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. Avoid Frequent Freeze-THAW Cycles.

Reactivity: The Ed50 as determined in a viral resistance assay was found to be < 0.05ng/ml, yielding a specific activity > 2 X 10 E 07 units/mg.
