Derivation: produced in E Coli as a single, non glycosylated. polypeptide chain containing 192 amino acids and having a predicted molecular mass of 22,260 daltons Purified by a proprietary chromatographic technique. amino acid composition in total agreement with the expected amino acid composition of native human growth hormone

Solubility: very soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. Recommend diluting in sterile DI water followed by addition of suitable carrier to any diluted material as 1-3% BSA/HSA.

Purity: > 99% as determined by RP-HPLC, anion- exchange FPLC and analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver stained. <1% dimer and aggregates as determined by silver stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.

Protein content: A280 extinction coefficient 0.72 for 0.1% 1mg/ml solution.

Storage: Lyophilized material although stable at room temp for several weeks is best stored desiccated at -20 DEG C . After reconstitution, store at 4-8 DEG C for up to 1 month or make working aliquots and store -20 DEG C. Avoid frequent freeze thaw cycles.

Biological Activity: In Vitro: Cultured rat anterior pituitary cells were dispersed and incubated with hGRF(1-44)-NH(2) for 4 hours at 37'C at 3.1- 200pM. Aliquots were assayed for Growth Hormone by standard double antibody RIA.

                            In Vivo: hGRF(1-44)-NH(2) was injected into mice IV (retro-orbital, 0-03ug/kg) and bled at time intervals of 0,5,10,15,30 and 60 min post-injection). Aliquots were assayed for Growth Hormone by standard double antibody RIA.
